Michael Jackson’s Behind the Mask and Hollywood Tonight set to be released!

Michael Jackson’s latest album release “Michael” is in full swing, as two new singles are set to be released.

“Hollywood Tonight” and “Behind the mask” are to be released worldwide, along with music videos and a continuation of the Michael Jackson album marketing campaign.

The two singles are set to be split with “Behind the Mask” being released in France, Japan and North America whilst “Hollywood Tonight” will be released the rest of the world. (Not too sure about why that is, probably a marketing issue or even a test just to see which works best!)

The Michael album is already a hit, reaching Platinum in over 16 countries with higher sales to come.

The two covers are iconic with the Behind the Mask in the same vein as “Dangerous” (and very similar to the very rare “Someone put your hand out” and the “Hollywood Tonight” cover is a digital representation of MJ with spotlights, doing his moves on the yellow brick road to Hollywood!

Hollywood Tonight release Date

Hollywood Tonight, produced by Teddy Riley, is set to be released on the 6th March 2011 and we have already seen sneak behind the scenes of the video being filmed in Hollywood outside the world famous Pantages Theatre. The main role is being taken by a FEMALE dancer along with her backing dancers who dance a mix of Michael’s famous steps. It actually looks really good! The lead dancer is wearing the classic glove, hat, Billie Jean out fit and all the rest of it! You can see and read more about that here.

As Michael is no longer with us in person (always in spirit), you can see that this album is almost a tribute, a celebration of Michael. This was the case with the Hold My Hand video and you can see that the fans are given a chance to show their love and moves for him in these videos. They are trying to make them fun and a celebration and I think that that is a good thing rather than an abstract video – which Michael may or may not have wanted and certainly didn’t ask for … you can’t argue with a tribute to the man, which all these videos seem to be.
