New Michael Jackson video’s, Immortal World Tour, plus other MJ News

The new Michael Jackson video “Hollywood Tonight” has, this week, been officially released and you can see it in full below!

Musical changes to the song include, clearer vocals, The addition of the “Billie Jean” beat and cuts (including the spoken part)

As of this moment the video is number 29 on the itunes chart and is being broadcast on television, including the UK.

Did you know? The “Hollywood Tonight” video was directed by Wayne Isham, who also directed Michael’s number one “You are not alone”.

The star of the video is female. A dancer called Sofia Boutella who is world known for commercials with Nike and has danced for Madonna. She was originally to dance in the This is it production but was contracted to the Madonna Confessions world tour. Michael reportedly, insisted and mentioned that “I used to date Madonna. I should call her.”, to one of his colleagues in the show.

“Hollywood Tonight,” then, has gone through many incarnations: the several different demos Jackson recorded with Brad Buxer and Michael Prince, from 1999 to 2008; the two versions Theron Feemster worked on following Jackson’s death (one of which is reportedly quite impressive); the polished album version completed by Teddy Riley; and, of course, the new single”

Greg Phillinganes and the IMMORTAL WORLD TOUR!

This is one of the best bits of Michael Jackson news in a LONG time. Michael Jackson in the past always used the BEST. I can think of no other person (except for Brad Buxer) than Greg Phillinganes who can play Michael’s music live. He played many of the original parts on Thriller and Off the Wall he was the musical director on the Dangerous World Tour as well as the Bad world tour – he is the best. Simple.

Greg Phillinganes has joined the Immortal world tour …. I have to say, as I said from the beginning – this is going to be a class act and up to Michael’s standards without doubt!

I would have loved to hear Greg on This is it, as well as Jennifer Batten and Brad Buxer too. I feel that, with all due respect to the musicians who did play… if somebody can play the piece or do it better than you: they should get the job. Jennifer Batten after touring with Michael for 3 tours can play Michael solo’s like no other.

Taking about Michael’s regular tour musicians: one that did play on this is it is the amazing drummer Jonathan muffett! He played on Michael’s History tour and (according to my ears) he didn’t make a mistake! In every version and performance on the tour that I have heard – I have not heard a real mistake – the closest came in Tunisia, during Smooth Criminal and Thriller where it seems clear enough that there was an issue with the tracking and possibly his monitors – but the consistency of this man is amazing.
