Kosovo Military Parade 2024 (Part 2 of 2)

Welcome to Art, Culture & Travel with me, Anthony King. I’ve spent this week in Pristina the capital of Kosovo and it’s been an incredible week. This week Kosovo is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the country’s liberation. The Kosovo Army troops paraded in the capital Pristina on June 12th 2024 and I’m quite proud of the photographs I took and the video that I filmed. Welcome to art, culture and travel with me Anthony King. I’m recording this on the evening of the 18th June 2024 and I’m currently in Pristina, Kosovo. It’s been an incredible trip with lot’s going on. I’ve already met quite a few dignitaries on my trip across the Balkans this year, from Presidents to Bishops to Prime Ministers, including even our own former Prime Minister, Tony Blair, a few days ago. I travelled to see The Red Parasol by Matej Sternen at the National Gallery of Slovenia in Ljubljana. Come join me there too. Welcome to Art, Culture & Travel with me, Anthony King. “The Red Parasol,” painted in 1904 by Matej Sternen, is an oil on canvas piece, 125.5 x 85 cm, displayed at the National Gallery of Slovenia. Sternen, born on September 20, 1870, in Verd, Slovenia, was a significant Slovene Impressionist. He studied in Graz, Vienna, and Munich, where he embraced Impressionism, focusing on portraits and female nudes. Besides painting, Sternen was known for restoring artworks, including the Franciscan church ceiling in Ljubljana, which you will find two videos of, on my channel. During WWII, he stayed mostly apolitical but faced some controversy.
