Should I apply for a dance school?

I strongly suggest that if you want to be a professional dancer a dance school will put you in contact with like-minded people and give you the training required. Ironically one of the main reasons to go to dance school and get a performing arts-based education is not only to learn the basics of your craft but also to experience the joys of being around people also want to express their creativity in a safe space where your personality can shine and you will have an opportunity to demonstrate your talent which is, what it’s all about. It can also help you create a network of fellow dancers that can launch you directly into the professional world. For this reason, I strongly suggest that if possible, you attend a very good dance school. With that said it is not a requirement, you can succeed as a professional dancer without going to dance school. Some of the greatest dancers of all time didn’t go to dance school and some didn’t have formal dance training at all! Sometimes you can enter the industry directly but I strongly recommend that you do apply for a dance school because the probability of you becoming a professional dancer at a young age with no formal dance training is, relatively speaking, low… but nevertheless possible! If your stars are aligned and you have the talent you will make it regardless of formal training dance training or no training. In summary, I strongly recommend that you apply for a dance school if not to advance your dance ability and training but to advance you as a human being.
