Welcome to Art, Culture & Travel with me, Anthony King. I’ve spent this week in Pristina the capital of Kosovo and it’s been an incredible week. This week Kosovo is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the country’s liberation. The Kosovo Army troops paraded in the capital Pristina on June 12th 2024 and I’m quite proud of the photographs I took and the video that I filmed. Tell me what you think military lovers – how did I do? The occasion was marking the 25th anniversary of NATO-led KFOR forces entering Kosovo and Serbian forces leaving. This was led by Bill Clinton and Tony Blair who was also in town to collect awards and make a special speech to parliament. I was lucky enough to have a meeting with him. More on that later. During the state ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of Kosovo’s liberation, over 1,500 participants marched, including 16 squads from the KSF and seven from the Kosovo Police. In the parade, three squads showcased their equipment, featuring heavy machine guns and helmet-mounted cameras. One-third of the soldiers paraded through the capital’s squares. This is a small army from a new country. This isn’t the Royal Marines or the United States Army but it was a wonderful occasion and I was impressed. I have split this into two videos because I also filmed the soldiers leaving which is also an incredible highly choreographed high security event. This is part one of two.
