The National Maritime Museum | Amsterdam, Netherlands Welcome to “Art, Culture & Books” with me Anthony King. Today I’ll be taking you on a photographic tour of The National Maritime Museum, Amsterdam, Netherlands. We’ll also be exploring a replica of the Dutch East Indiaman ship, which is docked right beside the National Maritime Museum. The replica is a copy of the Dutch east Indiaman Amsterdam which was wrecked on its first voyage to Asia in a storm off the English coast near the town of Hastings in 1749.

All of the photographs and videos that you see in this series were personally filmed by me on location, so let’s enjoy, accompanied by the beautiful music of Erik Satie … and then straight afterward make sure you put on the incredible “Moldau”, which is probably Smetana’s most famous composition.

Welcome to “Art, Culture & Books” with me Anthony King. Today I’ll be taking you on a photographic tour of View of Warsaw from the Terrace of the Royal Castle by Bernardo Bellotto. It was painted in 1773. The Palace was destroyed during World war 2 and it was rebuilt. We’ll be visiting it shortly so you can see how it looks today. They did a great job!

Today I’ll be taking you on a photographic tour of Woman Bitten by a Serpent which is an 1847 marble Sculpture by Auguste Clésinger, which is at the Musée d’Orsay, Paris. It was first exhibited in the Paris Salon in 1847, where it was one of the two most commented works – it was a massive hit.
